Adoption Profile Design
How to Create an Effective and Personal Adoption Profile
Our technology and our marketing services have fundamentally changed the world of adoption.
- Mark Livings, CEO, CAIRS Solutions
It matters how your adoption profile looks. If your profile looks like all of the others, few expectant parents will invest the time to read it. The same holds true if it looks too cluttered. You will also lose opportunities to strike a connection with potential birth parents if your adoption profile looks like a flashy marketing brochure.
Your adoption profile must catch the reader’s eye, draw her in, and be easy and entertaining for her to read. Our Adoption Profile Coaching & Graphic Design Service focuses on these objectives.
How We Are Different
There are other adoption profile designers, but none like us! The graphic design work is important, but it’s the iterative coaching and feedback you get from us that distinguishes our level of service and quality of work.
Our experience encompasses the following:
- an adoptive father with an open adoption
- an adoptive mother with a closed adoption
- an adoptive parent counselor who showed profiles to expectant parents
- an adoption educator
- an adoptee
- a graphic designer

Frequently Asked Questions
We do not write your text because it is critical that expectant parents get to know you through YOUR words and YOUR style. We absolutely, however, help you clarify meaning and strengthen your message and will provide specific editing suggestions throughout the process.
More specifically, this is what you can expect from us:
- We will provide you with a detailed questionnaire to help you formulate your ideas. Your answers become the foundation for your text.
- We will edit your text to correct spelling and grammar mistakes and ensure that what you are trying to communicate comes through clearly. We will never modify your “voice.”
- We will provide you with a written guideline about how to select photographs for your adoption profile.
- We will edit your photographs through cropping, red-eye removal, and techniques for improving the color and brightness.
It can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks to several months to complete your adoption profile. The biggest driver in terms of turnaround time is how quickly you can provide quality photos and text and respond to feedback. During our initial call we can assess what you have ready to go and will provide you with an estimated completion time.
We will electronically deliver to you a print-ready, color PDF of your adoption profile. You can take this file to a local FedEx Office/Kinko’s, OfficeMax, or professional printer of your choice or we can facilitate the printing for you, for an additional cost. We will also provide you with a lower resolution PDF of your adoption profile so you can attach it to your adoption website or email it to interested expectant parents, attorneys, or agencies.
Absolutely not! Our graphic designers focus almost entirely on designing adoption profiles and have completed hundreds of them – hundreds of one-of-a-kind adoption profiles. We don’t use templates to speed the process. Each adoption profile is as unique as our adopting parent clients.
This might seem like an odd question, but other profile designers copyright your adoption profile for their own benefit. When you work with us, YOU own your adoption profile. This is important because it means that you can use any of the files we created for your adoption profile to build a matching adoption website (through us, through someone else, or on your own). This saves you time and money. You should never have to pay twice for the same work.
