Adoption Questions

ARE YOU A LICENSED ADOPTION AGENCY?

No. Parentfinder is not an adoption agency. We are an adoption consulting and profile platform. We work with dozens of the largest adoption agencies and adoption law firms across the United States. We also coach hopeful adoptive families through various parts of the adoption process, whether that be the home study process, matching, or adoption profile creation. However, we never work directly with expectant parents

WHAT IS THE TYPICAL COST OF AN ADOPTION?

Most adoptions cost between $30,000 and $45,000 dollars. However, those seeking a “fast adoption,” may pay closer to $50,000 or more, while working with an adoption agency.

HOW LONG DO PEOPLE USUALLY WAIT TO BE MATCHED AND PLACED?

Since every adoption situation is different, an average wait time is really hard to pin down. That being said, the goal of the Parentfinder Preferred Membership program is to help you complete your adoption journey in the shortest time frame possible, given your unique circumstances. Our goal for you is to complete the adoption, beginning-to-end, within one year. We can help you achieve that by coaching you through the adoption home study process, helping you create a dynamic adoption profile, and utilizing our nationwide network of adoption professionals to help you find the right match.

IF HOME STUDY HAS ALREADY BEEN COMPLETED, CAN WE STILL WORK TOGETHER TO CREATE AN ADOPTION PROFILE?

No matter where you’re at in the adoption process, Parentfinder would be happy to work with you. If you’re doing an independent adoption, you can still utilize the services of our Preferred Membership to help create your adoption profile and match with an expectant mother in a shorter time frame.

IN ORDER TO WORK WITH YOU, DO WE NEED TO PROVIDE YOU WITH A NOTE FROM OUR PASTOR OR A STATEMENT OF OUR FAITH?

No. We are not Christian adoption consultants. In fact, we have no religious affiliation at all. We respect all religions and beliefs and are inclusive to all.

ARE HOPEFUL ADOPTIVE PARENTS ALLOWED TO HAVE PREFERENCES ABOUT THE CHILD THEY HOPE TO ADOPT?

Our best advice is to be as open as possible. This will help you cast the broadest net and allow you the potential to connect with many more possible matches. However, we will accommodate any preferences you may have during your adoption journey.
