We just completed our first camping weekend of the summer. Growing up Kate (mom) went camping almost every other weekend so camping is near and dear to our hearts.
We had a blast and the kids can’t wait to go again. Hannah (9) made many new friends and loved playing gaga-ball with Daddy. Gaga-ball is a weird version of Dodgeball where you try to hit each other in the feet with the ball (or so Mommy says). They had so much fun that the other kids asked her when she was coming back because they wanted her dad to come back to play with them again.
We bought David (6) a new bike for the summer because he outgrew his other one. He had a blast riding around our campsite with his friend. They rode all over and I (Mom) tried to keep up walking with Mimi (3) around the campground too.
We ate donuts at the Ranger station daily and they were so good. The cinnamon roll donut tasted like a gooey elephant ear which was Mommy’s favorite. Hannah loved the chocolate donuts, David and Mimi ate the sprinkle donuts. Daddy likes the apple fritter donuts.
We had a great campfire Saturday night. We made hot dogs, and then Dad decided to try cooking eggs on the fire. They were amazing. In fact, they were so good, we didn’t have room for s’mores!!! The kids each ate at least 2 eggs after having hot dogs. Then we walked to the Ranger station and by then we had room for ice cream of course! The kids had a blast swimming in the heated outdoor pool. They also played in the sand, jumped on the pillow pads (basically air trampolines), and went down the slides in the play area.
We are all exhausted, but can’t wait to go back to Yogi Bear Park again soon!
