John and I felt like the guys from American Pickers this weekend. We went to an estate sale that took place in an old warehouse which hadn’t been opened in 15 years! Since we watch American Pickers ALL the time we knew to bring flash lights giving us a big advantage over our competitors! We found an old tackle box with old tackle in it, an old wooden pirate ship, a rusty tin filled with skeleton keys, and an old cedar chest! My favorite find was the skeleton keys. No one else bothered to open the little battered tin up to see that they were there. Never judge a book by it’s cover right?! I think I may make a wind chime out of the old keys (idea from my younger sister). I love finding old things and cleaning them up! I like to imagine where they came from and who owned them. I picture a little boy collecting these skeleton keys and hiding them in his favorite little tin which cookies came in. He probably imagined them opening doors to magical places. Now they will have a new life blowing in the breeze by my herb garden 🙂
