I’m going to be honest; it was difficult for both Scott and I to complete the video portion of our profile. We’re excited for the process from start to finish but talking about ourselves on camera is something new for both of us. We waited for a bit before finally gaining the courage to sit down, talk and film.
We both knew how important the video is for birth parents to connect and see a different side of the parents within a profile. We spent a few hours on a Sunday between chores and prepping for the week to sit down and start the process of recording. I think as we continued and “practiced,” it became easier to start to formulate our video’s topics. I must say I was tangled up in my head and messed up what I was saying quite a bit. Thankfully, we didn’t have a director that would be upset, if I asked to re-record that last one. Scott did a great job and was able to get out his thoughts a lot easier than I. As our profile and video state we make a great team and we’re able to move through the recording a lot easier towards the end leaning on each other’s strengths.
We’re excited to see the end results and hope it will resonate with the viewer. We felt accomplished when it was completed and mailed back to the Team. Thank you for those who are reading this post. I thought this was a great time to blog and to get our thoughts out!
