A few weeks ago we visited a private daycare a mile from here. It’s called ‘De Bonte Paardjes’, which translates to ‘the colorful horses’. The daycare is run by a very lovely and sweet lady. She lives in a very large farmhouse, where she added a small private daycare. She’s doing this for a lot of years now, and there is a steady group of 4 permanent employees.
This daycare appealed to us because of the large playground that surrounds the daycare. They have a huge fenced garden, with bikes, a sandpit to play in, a huge trampoline and a lot of animals around. They have some horses walking around in the ajecent meadow. The neigbor across the street is a cow farmer and the visit that farm very often as well, especially when its time for the calves to be born! They also have a very sweet dog, which plays along with the kids as well.
Their philosophy is to let children play and discover things by themselves, but ofcourse safely under supervision of a professional. When it’s spring, they play as much outside as possible. The also have lunch outside when the weather allows it. We visited the daycare as it was cold winter-weather, and there were all kinds of artworks about snow and the winter, so lovely!
Roel and I both fell in love with the place, because of their philosophy, but also because their outside facilities and their close connection to animals. They are situated at a very lush area, with lots and lots of trees and flowers etc. We really feel that this is a comfortable and a trusted place to bring our baby when we need to!
We were not allowed to take pictures, because of privacy issues, but if you’d like, you can check the website for some photo’s. It’s https://www.debontepaardjes.nl/?prefix=wwww.
If you see the menu on the right, you can click on som options to see pictures. ‘Binnenruimte’ means interior space and ‘buitenleven’ means outside. If you click on ‘locatie’ (location), you’ll see the driveway, which is also completely fenced. Safety first!
