When Nora was really little, Matt would get home from work and put her in the baby carrier to take her and the dog for a walk. Now, he tries to plan an evening run with her when the weather is not too cold.
Matt ran his first marathon when Nora was around 5 months old and he’s been running with Nora since we got the jogging stroller several years ago. She used to wake up at what we called “too early o’clock” (like 5 in the morning early) so he would bundle her up and take her on his morning runs so she’d fall asleep for another couple hours. On one particular day where she was refusing to nap he took her out and ended up running 13 miles so she’d sleep well! He’s an incredible dad.
Nora loves her night time runs with dad, especially since he gives her a flashlight and makes her hot chocolate! Its a sweet time they get together and I love the half hour to finish up dinner and have it all ready when they get home! A couple weeks ago Matt took her out for a short 3 mile run and ended up gone for a couple hours, turns out she talked him into a 9 mile run and 3 park visits!
We’re already looking at double joggers so Matt can take both kids on some of his runs when the baby is big enough. The best part of running with a stroller full of babies is that your pace is way better when you’re not pushing that much weight!
