Chris and I went to Frederick, MD for the long weekend (Presidents Day). My sister, Beth, and her husband, Bill, came with us which was particularly fun. They moved to DC in 2018 so it’s been really fun exploring the area with them. We really like visiting Frederick in particular because it feels so different from DC. It’s like we’re on vacation just an hour from home.
We started at the Frederick County Museum and walked up and down canal. It was warm for February so there were a ton of kids running around the area. This will be a great place to visit with our child soon. 🙂 I can just imagine getting some lunch to go, finding a bench near the water, and eating together as a family in the sunshine.
After a really great lunch at a restaurant (one of our favorite things to do in a new city is try restaurants we’ve read about online and Frederick has a ton of good ones), we checked out a few of the stores. I really like the stores on Market Street–they have a lot of great home things and are much cheaper than DC–basically a win-win. We’ve been focused on getting our home ready for a new baby so have been taking on some projects around the house. I was hoping to find a new bookshelf for the baby’s room, but no luck this time.
It was a great day in Frederick. We got to spend some time with my sister and find some things to make our home a little cozier for the baby. Pretty successful trip. 🙂
