We celebrated Bret’s birthday a couple of weeks ago. Instead of going out, we decided to stay home and celebrate with the girls. I prepared a gourmet meal at home, that included steak with a shrimp peppercorn sauce, baked potato and sauteed carrots. The girls enjoyed a special treat as we shared a small piece of steak with them. We then spent quality time playing with the girls and finished the celebration off with some cake.
We had family visit for a weekend at which time we were to attend a local event. The weather however did not cooperate cancelling our plans. We did manage to enjoy a bonfire the first evening they arrived before some severe rains the rest of the visit. Though plans did not work out, we are always happy for our time together.
Fall has quickly come and gone it seems as we had our first measurable snowfall yesterday. Though Bret and I were not quite ready for this yet still wanting to get some fall cleanup done, the girls could not have been happier. Both Shirley and Betty enjoy running and playing in the snow. Betty had only been a few months old last winter with opportunity to play in the snow only a couple of times. This first snowfall is indication that she will look forward to more snow this winter.
