The end of year and holiday season is filled with family, gifts, festive decor, shopping, traditions, and so much more. A few of my favorite things about Christmas include:
Family – The holidays mean compiling wish lists, planning the dinner menu, and coordinating activities. It all leads up to memorable, fun filled gatherings celebrating with the many generations of family and close friends.
Music – Five of my favorite Christmas records include The Temptations, The Whispers, Boyz II Men, New Edition, and Kirk Franklin. My all-time favorite song is Silent Night by The Temptations. The season begins after I hear this song!
Movies – Two of my favorite channels I enjoy watching year-round include the Hallmark Channel and Lifetime. However, these are my go-to for the month of December. The DVR is set so I can record and watch all the new holiday movies.
Traditions – One game that has come to be a favorite for Christmas is White Elephant. It’s a spirted twist between Secret Santa and gift exchange. The game is so much fun with a large gathering for the children and adults to have a lively and interactive time.
Charity – While the holidays symbolize happiness and joy for many of us, we cannot forget those that are in need. Every year, I participate in varying Angel Tree programs to buy gifts for children in need as well as make in-kind and monetary donations to organizations for holiday meals and continual care.
