It’s not over yet, but what a fun weekend we have had celebrating the 4th of July holiday! My brother, his wife and their daughter are in town for the weekend. Jamesen and Kensi have had a lot of fun playing with their cousin and it has been great to catch up with my big brother. On Friday evening we all went to dinner with Mom and Dad (Nana and Papaw) and got some rest for a busy Saturday.
On Saturday we got together at Mom and Dad’s, had lunch, played games and even tried to get in some naps. Saturday afternoon we went out for the local air show and got to see all sorts of awesome airplanes up close. There was a lot of delicious food, just like the county fair, that we got to enjoy while watching the planes do different stunts. Any 4th of July celebration isn’t complete without fireworks and once the sun finally set we got to witness one of the best fireworks shows I have ever seen. Somehow, Kensington managed to sleep through the entire thing, while Jamesen, Cheryl, Mom, Dad and my brother and his family watched in amazement.
Today, Sunday, we all got together again for lunch and to spend some time together before my brother and his family headed back home. The kids played on the trampoline and in the sprinklers and we got to enjoy a beautiful sunny day out in the yard.
I have to work on Monday, but only for a bit, and we plan to spend the afternoon relaxing with the neighbors. As long as our favorite local pizza place is open, we plan to order some pizza and maybe rent a movie to watch with all the kids. On the 4th we plan to have a BBQ and just spend the day relaxing. Our neighbor is going to smoke some ribs and has even made his own special BBQ sauce for us to try….yum!
In all of these moments, throughout each day, we think about how different all of our little get togethers will be with the addition of another little one. We are so excited and cannot wait to make new memories with friends and family. We pray often for you and for this little life. We pray God’s protection over you and want you to know that you are loved.
