We go to the gym about three times a week. We aren’t “gym rats” by any means, but we like to do a 20-minute cardio and then some body weight exercises. We usually run on the treadmill side-by-side, which is good encouragement to keep going on those days when a run sounds boring (we give each other goofy thumb’s ups and cheesy smiles to keep it fun, hehe). We’ve burned off a lot of emotions at the gym during our adoption wait, ranging from hopeful anxiety to disappointment, and it really is a great way to improve your mood. We also exercise with each other and our future family in mind. We know the future is not guaranteed to anyone, but we want to do the best we can to stay healthy and strong for our family. We also know that our gym habits will change when we become parents, but we want to start out our parenting journey in good condition, and we look forward to modeling healthy habits, self-care, and body positivity for our kids. We hope for many, many healthy and active years together!
