We are part of a group of young, married Catholic couples that meets once a month for dinner and prayers. We’ve been active in the group for more than a year, and it is such a great part of our lives. This week was very stressful for us and we almost skipped the group on Saturday, but ended up deciding to go anyways. So glad we did! There is something so refreshing about being with friends who you know want the best for you. To have people you trust enough to share your prayer requests, struggles, and successes, and to know that they are praying for you and cheering you on. And the food is always good! This month’s get-together was a “friends-giving” potluck, complete with turkey. The group is probably 70% Latino and 30% non-Latinos, and ranges from about four to ten couples (or more!), so it was really fun to have a traditional “American” Thanksgiving foods with foods from other countries. We love our little faith community!
