We went out to Atlantic City for a day trip to celebrate the birthday of Sara’s Grandmother! It wasn’t quite at full attendance, I believe there was one single-child family that was missing. But they also struggled to find a date that would work for as many people as possible, so I’m pretty happy that as many people showed up as they did. Mom-mom certainly seemed very happy about it, and it was good to see the rest of the family that don’t live in the area (mainly Atlantic City and Philadelphia).
This past weekend was Maryland Day, an event hosted by The University of Maryland where they open their campus to, well, pretty much everyone. All the different departments and clubs come out and set up booths, tents, or activities. It’s a great time for everyone and a great opportunity for the different student groups to show off and get their name out there. It’s also GREAT for the kids, most of the activities are at least kid-safe, if not completely kid oriented. Our community band plays for the event every year. Fortunately, we play in the morning, so that gives us the rest of the afternoon to wander around and enjoy the sites!
More of the same for the next week. I’ve still got handbell practice, but band is starting to wrap up. I think we’ve got two more concerts, one this weekend and one later next week.
