We wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas! Yesterday we packed in a lot of Christmas festivities. We made cookies and decorated them. Went to our candlelight service at church, opened our Christmas Eve presents, and watched Charlie Brown Christmas.
Watching Charlie Brown Christmas is a tradition Matt and I started when we were dating. We would exchange presents and watch it together in college before we would go to our homes for Christmas break. Since his parents were living in Pittsburgh (and then Rockford) and mine were in New Jersey (and then Germany) it was always a nice send off before we were apart. When we got married we would exchange presents and watch it before we’d visit which ever family we were going to that year. Since we decided to stay home this year it was nice to watch it together.
The Christmas Eve gift is from when I was a kid. We alway got new pjs on Christmas to wear the next morning. Its been fun to pass that along to Nora. She hasn’t figured out that every year it’s jammies so she was very surprised! We’re looking forward to matching sibling pj’s one day!
Today we’re going to have a slow and relazing today together. Matt and I both got up early to make sure everything was ready and get our morning runs in before Nora woke up (thankfully she’s a late sleeper!) We’re going to bake Christmas muffins, a recipe passed down from Matt’s grandma that he had every year on Christmas. We’re also going to do a nice dinner together. We’re excited to share these traditions with a baby one day.
We’re thinking of you and wishing you well. We want you to know that we’re praying for you often. We hope you have a wonderful Christmas surrounded by those you love and those who love you.
