Well, it’s been a full month since we officially went “live.” Ron and I took the month to celebrate the seven months it took to get to where we are- well, actually 5 years if you count our full journey! We prepared in case of an emergency placement and purchased the bare minimum of necessities in case we get “the call.” Ron has been excited since day one- I have been a bundle of nerves, excitement and anxiety which has since settled in the month. I think it was the initial thought of it all being real.
In our month, we’ve each had work, rehearsals, snow days and relaxing weekends by the fire. I got awarded Teacher of the Year at the school I work for, which was a surprise and an honor! I have my own parking spot now!
We had a baptism for a family friend a few weeks ago that was a wonderful celebration. They have a big Italian family, so to be thrust in the middle of it is always fun and loud! It was a wonderful reason to celebrate too!
Ron’s birthday was last weekend and the family all went to dinner to celebrate. It was a fun night of family and food. We walked around, shopped, and enjoyed each other’s company. Ron’s brother, sister in law and niece all came along with my parents and Ron’s mom. It was a nice gathering!
As we live our day to day lives, we will keep this journal updated monthly. Thanks for reading 🙂
