We found out we likely would never conceive on our own almost 8 years ago. We pursued a naturalpathic physician (accupuncture, herbs), and much to our surprise found out we were pregnant only a few short months later, and our daughter Kalissa was born! We decided to pursue a naturalpathic physician again, and once again we were excited to learn that we were pregnant. That excitement turned to devestation only 2 weeks later, as we learned we had a miscarriage.
In 2015, we decided that we wanted to pursue adoption to grow our family, instead of infertility treatments. It was with much prayer that we have been lead to Florida. We were very excited to learn we had been matched with a birth family in December (which is why we were absent from this blog for 4 months). We were heartbroken to learn that they had decided to parent their child, but we also respect their decision and wish them all kinds of blessings as they raise their little one.
This journey has not been easy, but we have certainly learned so much throughout this process that makes us stronger, and more attentive to what both Travis and I need in our marriage. We continue to pursue adoption, and hope that one day soon we will be able to hold another child in our arms that we can love, and watch them make mistakes and grow. Becoming parents has truly been one of the greatest earthly blessings we have ever received. As we watch Kali grow up, we desire for her to become a big sister, and enjoy the memories she can make with them.
We prayer constantly that God will be at the center of this adoption. We hope that through this, we can give God all the honor and glory. As much as we are so excited, we still have heavy hearts for the woman who is carrying the child that will become part of our family. Your journey is not an easy one either. But through all these difficult situations, there is a blessing, in the form of a child. And through the hearts of our family, and yours, this child will be blessed and be a blessing.
