Over Labor Day weekend, Adam and I were able to take Thalia to Chicago to see some of the highlights of the city! Faye stayed overnight at Grandpa and Grandma’s (which she loves doing). We headed out early Sunday morning and first went to see Aladdin on Broadway. Wow! That was quite the show! So many colors and so much glitter. It was amazing to see the cast sing and dance one of our favorite Disney stories! It was amazing when the magic carpet started flying too! We were all trying to figure out how they did that. After the show, we had to get some Chicago style deep dish pizza, we walked away stuffed after that! Then we walked around Navy Pier and got some of the world famous rainbow ice cream (5 flavors of ice cream on 1 cone!). We took a trolley back to our hotel and watched American Ninja Warrior.
The next day we went to the Lincoln Park zoo and saw a ton of animals. My favorite animals to watch are the polar bears, Adam loved the red pandas and Thalia likes penguins. It was so much fun to just wander around and talk about the animals we saw. They were very active which made it extra fun!
It was such a great trip and I’m glad we were able to have a last “hooray” before fall and school starts. Definitely a great way to send the summer!
