We’ve had Apollo in our family for almost 2 months and he’s getting so big! He’ll be 5 months old at the end of the month!
He’s the most gentle, patient puppy we’ve ever had. Every night he goes into Nora’s room to check on her before bed and he often waits outside her door in the morning for her to wake up. He does get into mischift and recently unfolded a stack of baby clothes I was organizing into sizes! We have found him napping near the baby’s crib (since he’s too big to sleep under it now!) I think he’s hoping for a new buddy too!
We though he would only get up to 40 or 50 pounds but big guy is alreay 35lbs! The vet thinks he’s a pyreneese lab mix and will likely be 75-90 pounds fully grown!
He walks well enough on a leash that Nora can walk him on the trails without him pulling her even a little. Matt or I walk him in the neighborhood because he still is a little curious and will wander into the street if he sees an intresting bug or stick.
He’s the world’s worst watch dog and will lay on the deck or in the yard and watch the bunnies eat our snap peas withouth chasing them away! Pyrneese are guard dogs and often protect their livestock/people from predators. We think he thinks the bunnies need to be protected so he lets them eat whatever they want back there! He doesn’t often bark when people come to the door, just wags his tail and wants the visitor to throw the ball for him.
We really couldn’t have asked for a better puppy to join our family. He and Nora have so much fun together, he’s going to love having another playmate join his crew.
