Although there are still some cold mornings, Spring has definetly arrived in our part of Northern Virginia. We’ve had some beautiful, warm, sunny days the past few weeks, which has made staying at home more enjoyable. Matt and I both have home offices, and outside the window of mine is a beautiful cherry tree. My office gets great afternoon sunlight, being on the west side of the house, so I get to enjoy the lovely sunny days we’ve been having lately. The best part about my office is it is the room we have decided will be our baby’s room. The natural light it gets makes it one of my favorite rooms in the house. That plus the great view of the cherry tree makes me exicted to turn my office into a nursaey.
One of my favorite parts of spring is seeing everthing start growing and blooming at once. We have a lot of flowering trees in our neighborhood and it has been fun to see them blossom. We are also seeing a lot of daffodils and tulips sprouting. My favorite flower of spring is actually a bush – azaleas. Where I grew up in Georgia the azaleas would always bloom around Easter and as a kid I always wanted to know how the flowers knew it was Easter! Azaleas remind me of my childhood and of where I grew up, and I love that we have so many growing around our house in Virginia.
I’ve always loved spring, and I’m glad to be back in the south to enjoy my favorite season!
