The unseasonably warm weather has continued this St. Patrick’s Day weekend, unfortunately it looks like it will be back to normal weather by the coming weekend.
Friday night we went to a fish fry done by a Fraternal Order of Eagles group with Heather’s parents. When we got home Chuck and I were looking over our back deck because this spring we are going to replace it. The deck is in bad shape. It was built by the previous owners of the house and the workmanship was not the greatest. Thankfully Chuck is very handy and Heather’s brother-in-law, Jason, works for a construction company so we have plenty of experienced people helping out.
On Saturday I (Jeremy) helped to serve lunch to a group of men who were participating in the Christ Renews His Parish retreat at our church this weekend. It was great to see many of the guys with whom I had gone through the same retreat three years ago and were part of the team that did the retreat two years ago. While I was doing that Heather went with a co-worker to pickup some chicken eggs to put into an incubater so their clients (adults with various disabilities) can see the eggs hatch chickens or roosters in a couple of weeks. Once hatched the chickens will be given to a chicken farm.
In the afternoon we cleaned up and organized our garage. We had some stuff we decided we no longer need so we’re going to donate it to Goodwill so we can make room for some new things we’ve aquired from family over the past few months. We then grilled some steaks and ate dinner outside to enjoy the wonderful weather. After cleaning up we went to our basement to shoot some pool, have some snacks and watched a little bit of a hockey game. OK, I (Jeremy) mainly was the one watching the hockey game between shots.
Sunday started off with rumbles of thunder and strikes of lightening at around 5:00 am. Went to church, then came home had lunch and then started painting what will be the baby’s room. We have the ceiling done and the trim part of the walls so hopefully Monday or Tuesday we’ll get the walls painted.
We are praying for a friend and her family whose dad was sent to the hospital over the weekend, and for those who are in need of God’s healing touch.
