We entered the “waiting stage” of the adoption process over the summer, so we kept ourselves busy with outdoor activities. This year, Lindsay started a vegetable garden. She had great luck with tomatoes and zucchini, but the woodchuck ate all the lettuce until we put up a fence. We’re learning!
Our friends are so supportive, and have kept us entertained. We did lots of great summer stuff — baseball games, hiking, tubing on the river, swimming.
Lots of our friends already have kids, and have been giving us baby clothes, bedding, and other necessities. Lindsay painted the baby’s room over the summer, and it’s starting to fill with books, toys, and more. Mike installed the car seat, to be sure we knew how to do it, and the guy at the police station said it was the only properly installed car seat he had seen in three years. We were pretty proud. We hope that means we are ready!
