Hello and thank you for stopping to check out what we’ve been up to recently. As we’ve mentioned, we love spending time with our family over the holidays. For 2019, we were with Michael’s family for Thanksgiving and we’ll be with Corey’s family for Christmas.
This year for Thanksgiving we all met up in Hershey, PA. Mike’s Grandma (great-Grandma to our future baby) flew in from El Paso, Texas. Mike’s Mom (future grandma) flew in from Tampa, Florida and Brother (future Uncle Jim) flew in from Denver, Colorado. Mike’s sister and her family drove from their home outside of Pittsburg, PA and we traveled by train from NYC. We all arrived within a few hours of each other the night before Thanksgiving.
First things, first- we spent the morning watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade together (something Mike’s family has been doing since he was a kids). After the parade we each had a part to play for making the big dinner. Mike and Corey were in charge of desserts and decided to make a pumpkin pie and salted caramel pecan pie. They were really tastey! After the big dinner we spent the afternoon and evening playing board games, and watching football. It was so fun and relaxing, everyone had such a great time.
The next day we went to Hershey Park, where our niece and nephew loved all the rides! We drank hot chocolate to keep warm and enjoyed all of the festive decorations. The day after that we explored the local town, went to breakfast and a mall to get some shopping done.
It’s always hard saying goodbye, but we will be seeing everyone again soon. As we were waiting for the train Sunday we stopped in a local restaurant where we had the best wings (seriously they were amazing).
We added some photos of our time with Michael’s family – check them out!
This week we’re heading up to Vermont to Corey’s family. Stay tuned for a post Christmas update.
