The week of Thanksgiving is one of our favorite weeks all year full of many traditions. Stephanie’s parents visited from Ohio for the week and through the years it’s become filled with so many annual activities.
We started off the week setting up our Christmas tree and doing our Christmas gifts. It’s so fun to be able to start off the Christmas season so early. Granny and Papa loved getting to spoil their granddaughter with some great presents.
We’ve always hosted Thanksgiving dinner and this year was so special because it’s the first one after Braden’s mom and step-dad moved to town. We had a total of 16 between family and friends and it made it the best Thanksgiving yet. Braden is a great cook and smokes our turkey, everyone always goes back for seconds!
The day after Thanksgiving we’ve started a new tradition of going to visit Santa at a local light festival. Maggie did such a good job laughing and smiling on Santa’s lap, we are so excited to use our pictures for Christmas cards. She also got to ride the carousel for the first time which she thought was a blast.
Our last Thanksgiving week tradition is watching the Ohio State vs. Michigan game on Saturday. We usually go out to a sports bar to watch, but weren’t able to this year because an active toddler doesn’t do well being confined for hours at a time! We stayed home and got to watch our Buckeyes win again!
It was such a fun week, and Maggie had a great time hanging out with her grandparents all week. We are so fortunate to have such a loving family. Stephanie’s parents love getting to spend time with Maggie and can’t wait to have another little one to spoil!
