Friday we invited some neighbors over for dinner. We grilled a pork tenderloin and some asparagus. We sat around eating and talking on the porch. It was a beautiful evening and Isabella had fun chasing lightning bugs.
On Saturday, Isabella had a chance to play on her new swing set. Michael and I finished it last week. At first, Isabella needed to be pushed on the swing, but now she’s figured out how to pump her feet and get swinging high. Plus, she’s decided that twisting the swing so she twirls is a ton of fun too.
We also went on a family bike ride Saturday along the George Washington Parkway. The trail runs from Mount Vernon into downtown D.C. Michael pulls Isabella in a trailer while I follow behind. Michael tells me he can’t wait until we have another little one and I have to pull a trailer too!
On Sunday, we were able to take the boat out for the first time this year. It was 93 degrees here! We took the boat to Lake Anna which is about an hour and a half away. We went out just the three of us. We all went swimming, jumping off the back of the boat and floating in the water. Plus, Isabella got to drive the boat! Michael was so patient teaching her right and left and how to steer. It was a great day and now we are ready for our week!
