We’ve had a busy few weeks. We’re sorry we haven’t posted much to date. We promise we’ll get better!
We went to Florida in May for a vacation, and then in June we celebrated Seth’s birthday with friends and family. We also had our annual fourth of July party with our neighbors. About 40 people were over for a BBQ. Unfortunately, it started to rain so we had to move inside. But it was still a great time, especially as neighborhood kids ran around with their glow sticks, water guns and ice cream bars (although, not at the same time!).
We’ve been working on getting the house ready for a new baby! We re-did our guest room to become a nursery, with mint walls and a dark wood floor. Bill actually installed the floors himself! It was hard work, but they look great; perfect for any kid! We ordered a rug, so when that gets delivered we’ll take some pictures. Jewish custom is to not set up the room as a nursery until after the baby is born, so right now it’s still just a guest room. With all the family that comes to visit, that isn’t necessarily a bad thing!
Seth got a promotion at work, which has kept him very busy. Some people slow down during the summer, but not him! He was recently in New Orleans for a work convention, and went a bit overboard enjoying Beignets from Cafe Du’Monde.
Bill has been tending to his garden. We can post some pictures of what it looks like. He has tomatoes, cucumbers, rhubarb, potatoes, and carrots growing. He also has lots of fresh herbs. We even have a dwarf coffee tree. All the veggies are a great addition to any dinner. Tonight, to celebrate the return of Games of Thrones, Seth is making a beef wellington, using the herbs. It should be tasty!
We’re going to see Bill’s parents in two weeks. We’ll also see our 19 month old nephew, and Bill’s brother and sister-in-law. They live near NYC, so we’ll also make sure to get good bagels. Both Bill and Seth love cinnamon raisin bagels with cream cheese, although Seth is weird and also puts lox on his.
