We took the train to Philadelphia to see our friends Sarah and Andrew and their two daughters. We intended to run the Broad Street 10-mile Run, which we often do with a big group of friends from DC. It’s a fun tradition and a great motivation to go for longer runs. However, for the second time in a row, it was pouring rain and in the mid-50s so we ended up not running the race. Fortunately, we got to spend more time with our friends.
After a big brunch of waffles and strawberries, we played cards with Sylvia and Eleanor. Eleanor soon got bored of cards so she and Chris watched videos on his phone and then played a new game involving Eleanor pretending to saw off his nose with a plastic saw. It was pretty hilarious and Chris, as usual, was a very good sport. 🙂
Clearly, this game was more fun than cards so Sylvia joined in with a pillow drop attack.
I would say it was a very successful operation and Chris’s nose came out very well. Maybe Eleanor has a real future in surgury. We were sad to take the train back to DC later that afternoon but it was a great visit with some very close friends.
