Hello! We are Chris and Jeffrey. We are so happy that you are allowing us the opportunity to show you a little bit about ourselves. We would greatly appreciate the opportunity to raise your child and provide them with the brightest possible future!

We met in May 2012 and had an instant connection. We can both still remember, vividly, our first date and how at the end we walked hand-in-hand to our cars together. We knew right then that this was something special. From there, our relationship grew into a friendship and love. In June 2014, we were married in Murphys, CA surrounded by our friends and family from all over the United States.  

On August 18, 2016, we began a new chapter in our lives with the adoption of our son, Bradley. He is named after Chris’ mother’s maiden name. We lost her in early 2015 and wanted to keep the family name for our son. Bradley has been enrolled at The Goddard School near our home since he was six weeks old and has thrived socially and academically. We know he’s going to be a great big brother, and we look forward to seeing him in that role! 

I grew up in Saint Louis, MO and was raised by my mother and grandmother. Both strong-willed women, they instilled in me a strong work ethic and good family values. I have one brother, who was born when I was 17 years old. Though there’s quite a difference in our ages, we get along really well and love spending time together. 

I have worked in higher education since 2009, after finishing my bachelor's and two master’s degree programs. When I’m not at the college where I work, I enjoy bowling, reading and playing with Bradley and Chris. I’ve absolutely loved becoming a father to Bradley, and I look forward to continuing to grow our family through adoption.

As a parent, I love… seeing Bradley smile and learn new things.  Watching him become independent, as a dad, has been the best thing.  He loves to show me how he can do things he learned from me; that brings me great joy.

I am a native Nevadan born in Reno, NV. I was an only child raised by great parents and have a large extended family with whom I’ve very close. I’m fortunate that many of them live close by.  I enjoy my time with my family and friends, especially my husband Jeffrey. I am very active and like to experience new and different things just as much as I love our time at home.  

I attended college here in Reno and have worked in School Transportation for over 20 years. I very much enjoy my time working with kids and teaching others how to do so as well.  I look forward to being able to share our lives and complete our family with another little one that we can love, cherish, and teach about the world.

Interesting Skill: I love Halloween and love to do make up. Also love yard work and throwing parties for birthdays, bbqs, charity events, and holidays. 

As a parent, I love... teaching our son new things watching him discover things on his own, it’s the simplest things that when he understands something or can get it, it is quite rewarding to see. I love being able to be a kid with our son and experience things with him. 

We live in a nice, quiet neighborhood. We built our home in 2018 and it has a mother-in-law suite for Jeffrey’s mom when she moves to Nevada. We have four bedrooms in the main house that occupy us along with our two dogs, Fanny and Daisy.  Daisy is a three-year-old German Shepard / Border Collie mix that we adopted from the ASPCA. Fanny is a German Wire-Haired Pointer that is 13 years old and belonged to Chris’ mom.  

The best part of living where we are is that it is nice and quiet. However, it is only 20 minutes to downtown. Also, in our neighborhood, there is a wonderful park where we like to take our son, Bradley, to listen to live music and play with other children on the playground.  

Finally, our neighborhood is filled with wonderful people that we’ve gotten to know over the past year.  There are many kids of all ages. The older ones really love to play with Bradley and look out for him. We also have a few older couples who live across the street and enjoy having us over for dinner and having Bradley spend time with them.   

Adopting Bradley was one of the most rewarding experiences in our lives. He joined us when he was just about an hour old. We did all of his initial feedings (he even peed on Chris during his first bath!) and have been a part of his life for all of his milestones to date.  

Bradley has grown into a fun-loving, caring, playful and thoughtful toddler. He loves cars, in general, but especially loves the movie “Cars 3.”  He’s seen both “Cars 1,” and “Cars 2,” but for some reason, he really loves that third one! Bradley also likes playing with his friends, reading books with us, and playing counting and alphabet games. Just recently, he learned to count to 20 in Spanish and over 40 in English.  Bradley also loves to sing nursery rhymes to us. He can even sing a song that Jeffrey made up for him when he was born!  Remind us to sing it to you some time.  

We ask Bradley from time to time about how he feels about having a baby brother or sister, and while his decision changes from day to day, he always lights up at the thought of being a big brother!

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “It Takes a Village to Raise a Child.”  Well, that’s sort of how both of us were raised. Jeffrey was raised by his mother and grandmother and Chris had a network of cousins and grandparents around growing up. Chris is still very close to his cousins and his extended family. Many of them live here in Nevada.  

As we mentioned earlier, we built a home with an in-law suite so Jeffrey’s mother could eventually live with us or have extended visits throughout the year. Jeffrey’s mother, or Mee-Maw, loves being a grandmother.  Bradley was her first grandchild and we know she’s excited for another one. 

Chris’ dad and step-mom love being around Bradley too! We get to visit them several times a year. We all get together as a family for the major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Bradley’s Birthday). We enjoy hosting these events at our house with the extended family.

We enjoy taking Bradley on exciting trips out of town. Sometimes we stay local, sometimes we travel into California or we will go to New York.  We’ve even been on a couple of cruises! We also enjoy activities around the house such as gardening and yard work. Chris has really gotten Bradley into helping out in the yard with watering plants and playing in the soil. And Jeffrey takes care of the inside of the house where he has Bradley help with the laundry and cleaning up. Both of us enjoy cooking, although usually, Jeffrey does most of the cooking.  

In our free time away from work, we enjoy shopping, going to charitable events, going to festivals, spending time working on our home, and enjoying family and friends. We enjoy making memories together and hope to share these experiences with another child.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to share our lives with you. We are amazed at the love you must feel for your child in wanting the best possible life for them. It takes great strength to make this type of decision. We promise that if given the opportunity, your child will always know what a courageous and loving mother he or she has in you. We would also love to be able to get to know you so that we can tell your child all of the wonderful things you would want us to share.
